by Vincentwei1021

What you can do with it
- Turn a topic or an article into a 2 to 8 minute narrated explainer video in English or Chinese
- Get a 1280x720 MP4 with subtitles, chapter cards and a progress bar, plus the research and script behind it
- Use your own voiceover or TTS engine instead of the default edge-tts or kokoro voices
Make money with it
Offer a done-for-you explainer video service for other businesses, using the skill to produce the first full draft quickly.
An idea, not financial advice. Check the licence before charging for anything built on it.
Ways a business could use it
- Produce product or concept explainer videos for a website or onboarding without paying a video agency
- Make training or educational videos for clients from existing articles or documentation
Can you use it commercially?
Not open source (PolyForm licence). Usually free to use for your own business, but you can't resell it or offer it as a hosted service. Read the licence.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
Clone the repository, symlink it into the Claude Code or Codex skills folder, then install Node, ffmpeg and Python packages such as edge-tts (and kokoro for English narration).
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- Licence is not clearly stated (listed as NOASSERTION)
- Needs a paid AI coding agent such as Claude Code or Codex, so token costs apply
- A full video takes about 1 to 3 hours and around 2 to 3 GB of disk
- Developed on macOS; Windows is untested and the scripts use zsh
- edge-tts depends on a Microsoft endpoint and can break between versions
