What you can do with it
- Build AI agent workflows that connect to apps such as Slack, Notion, HubSpot and Salesforce
- Upload files and documents as a knowledge base so agents can answer questions from your own data
- Monitor runs, logs and schedules, and connect Claude or Codex to your workspace through its MCP server
Make money with it
A freelancer could build and run custom AI agent workflows for local businesses as a paid automation service.
An idea, not financial advice. Check the licence before charging for anything built on it.
Ways a business could use it
- Automate routine tasks such as lead handling, support replies and CRM updates without paying per-task fees on a hosted automation service
- Build a customer-facing or internal chatbot that answers from your own documents and product information
Can you use it commercially?
Free to use, change and sell, including in paid products. Keep the copyright notice.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
Run the interactive "npx sim-setup" wizard, which needs Node.js 20+ and Docker and starts the app at localhost:3000; a hosted cloud version and a Mac desktop app also exist.
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- Needs API keys for AI models, which usually cost money per use (unless you run local models with Ollama or vLLM)
- The Chat feature is a Sim-managed service that needs a Chat API key, so self-hosting is not fully independent
- The prompt for the Docker setup mentions needing 12GB or more of RAM
