What you can do with it
- Follow eight markets on one dashboard, with live TradingView charts and technical indicators
- Build a watchlist of up to 50 stocks and get emailed price alerts
- Receive a weekly AI-written news digest and read company financials and profiles
Make money with it
Someone could set up and host customised market dashboards for local investment clubs or small advisers as a paid setup and maintenance service.
An idea, not financial advice. Check the licence before charging for anything built on it.
Ways a business could use it
- Give a small finance or advisory team a shared, free market dashboard instead of paying for a data platform
- Offer clients a branded, self-hosted watchlist and alert page for the markets they follow
Can you use it commercially?
Free to use. Anything you distribute that includes it must be open-sourced under the same licence. Running it as an online service also counts, so a hosted version must offer its source.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
Clone the repository, install with npm, fill in a .env file with MongoDB and Finnhub keys, then run it, or use the Docker image provided for self-hosting.
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- Needs a MongoDB database and a Finnhub API key; AI features may need a paid Gemini, MiniMax or Siray key
- Free data is delayed (hourly by default); real-time updates need your own Finnhub keys
- Not financial advice and not a brokerage
- AGPL-3.0 licence requires you to share changes if you offer it as a public service
