by melgarafael
DeskcommCRM is a self-hosted customer relationship manager that connects to WhatsApp and uses AI agents to answer, qualify and follow up with customers. It is meant for businesses that sell through chat and want to run their own system instead of paying a monthly fee.

What you can do with it

- Set up automation rules (when, if, then) to follow up with leads

- Kommo

Our suggestion based on what it does, not a feature-by-feature comparison.
Make money with it
A freelancer or agency could install and configure it for local businesses, then charge for setup, AI agent tuning and ongoing support.
An idea, not financial advice. Check the licence before charging for anything built on it.
Ways a business could use it
- Replace a paid chat-based CRM subscription by hosting your own and keeping customer data in-house
- Handle first-line sales and support replies on WhatsApp automatically so staff spend less time on routine messages
Can you use it commercially?
Free to use, change and sell, including in paid products. Keep the copyright notice.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
You connect to a VPS with Docker (4 GB RAM recommended) over SSH, clone the repository and run the install script, which asks for your domain and keys and sets up the rest.
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- Needs a paid API key for an AI provider (OpenRouter, Anthropic or OpenAI) and a VPS
- Needs a free or paid Supabase database account
- Uses WAHA, an unofficial WhatsApp connection via QR code, which may breach WhatsApp's terms and risk the number being banned
- README is mainly in Portuguese and the install guide promotes a hosting partner link
