quant-ux
by KlausSchaefers
Quant-UX is a web tool for building clickable prototypes of apps and websites and testing them with real users. It records how people use the designs and turns that into usage data, so you can improve a design before building it.

What you can do with it
- Build clickable prototypes of apps or websites
- Run usability tests and gather data on how people use a design
- Share prototypes with clients or testers and review the results
Make money with it
A freelance designer could sell usability testing and prototype reports to small businesses using their own hosted instance.
An idea, not financial advice. Check the licence before charging for anything built on it.
Ways a business could use it
- Test website or app designs with real users before paying for development, avoiding costly rebuilds
- Offer clients prototype and usability testing as a paid service without paying per-seat fees for a hosted research tool
Can you use it commercially?
Free to use. Anything you distribute that includes it must be open-sourced under the same licence.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
Run it with Docker Compose using the published images for the front end, backend, websocket server and MongoDB, with SMTP mail settings. One-click hosting on Elestio or RepoCloud is also offered.
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- This repo is only the front end; a separate Java backend, MongoDB and an SMTP mail server are also needed
- The optional AI features need an OpenAI key and can cost money
- GPL-3.0 licence has conditions if you modify and distribute it
- The README is cut off, so some install steps are unclear
