sqlmux
by kackerx

What you can do with it
- Browse tables and edit cells, rows and Redis keys in place, then save all changes in one transaction
- Write and run SQL in a Vim-style editor with completion, with results in tabs
- Split the screen into panes and sessions to work on several databases at once
Make money with it
A freelancer could offer database clean-up and reporting work, using it to inspect, correct and export client data quickly.
An idea, not financial advice. Check the licence before charging for anything built on it.
Ways a business could use it
- Check and fix records in a live customer or shop database over SSH without paying for a graphical client
- Export query results to CSV or JSON for quick reports and bookkeeping
Can you use it commercially?
Free to use, change and sell, including in paid products. Keep the copyright notice.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
Install with Homebrew (`brew install kackerx/tap/sqlmux`), npm (`npm install -g sqlmux`), `go install`, or a prebuilt binary from the Releases page.
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- Version 0.x, so keys and config may change between minor releases
- Edits live databases; its safety checks are not a permission boundary, so use read-only accounts for production
- Needs a Nerd Font for icons, or ASCII icons set in config
- No keychain support on Windows; passwords may be saved in a plain config file unless you use another method
