effortless
by HeyCubit
A plugin for Claude Code that picks how much reasoning effort to use for each prompt. It also shows a bar with how full the chat is and how long the prompt cache stays warm, with one-click compacting or handoff. The repository also contains textless, a desktop app that shows pictures instead of the long list of steps while Claude works.

Things to check
- Needs a Claude Code setup and login to be useful
- Runs code on your machine as a plugin, so read the hooks first
- Optional Jev judge needs a paid TypeSafe key, which is saved in plain text if pasted in the setup guide
- The cost savings come from the author's own small benchmark
- Compaction by Haiku and the cheaper-model switching are experimental
