ARTEMIS lets you give plain-English instructions to control a real Android phone or emulator, so it can carry out tasks across apps and record logs and screenshots. It is mainly for automated mobile testing, and it can also be connected to AI coding assistants through an MCP server.

What you can do with it
- Describe a test or task in plain English and have it run on a real Android phone or emulator
- Connect it to Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity so the assistant can operate a device and collect Logcat output and screenshots
- Watch live screen mirroring and replay past runs from a local web page
Make money with it
A freelancer could offer Android app testing and bug-report services, using it to run and document test passes on real devices.
An idea, not financial advice. Check the licence before charging for anything built on it.
Ways a business could use it
- Automate repeated manual checks of an Android app before each release, cutting time spent on manual testing
- Run exploratory and stability tests on real phones and produce diagnostic reports without hiring a dedicated test engineer
Can you use it commercially?
Free to use, change and sell, including in paid products. Keep the copyright notice.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
Clone the repository and run the start script (start.sh or start.bat), which installs ADB, scrcpy, FFmpeg and Python dependencies, with an Android device that has USB debugging enabled or an emulator connected.
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- Needs an AI model, which probably means a paid API key (the README excerpt does not say which)
- Lets an AI control a real phone, so use a test device rather than one with personal or banking apps
- Installs global MCP settings and rules into your AI tools, so review the prompts before accepting
