gtrk is a command-line tool that lets an AI coding agent (such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor) edit video from talking-head footage, interviews, scripts or travel clips. It produces an editable project with cuts, captions, music and animated graphics, which can be refined in a desktop client or exported to editors such as Premiere and CapCut.

What you can do with it
- Rough-cut a talking-head recording by removing repeats and long pauses, then continue editing in CapCut or Premiere
- Pick the best 45-second highlights from a long interview or podcast and make vertical and horizontal versions
- Turn travel or food footage into a narrated video with voice-over, matched visuals, music and subtitles
Make money with it
An individual could offer a video-editing service that turns clients' talking-head recordings or interviews into captioned short clips, using gtrk to speed up the rough cut.
An idea, not financial advice. Check the licence before charging for anything built on it.
Ways a business could use it
- Turn one long recording into several short clips for social media without paying for an editor or per-clip software
- Produce branded explainer, product or food and travel videos faster, with reusable style settings for each series
Can you use it commercially?
Free to use, change and sell, including in paid products. Keep the copyright notice.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
Install with npx @gitruck/cli@latest install (Node.js 20.6 or later and FFmpeg needed), then add an API key from the vendor's cloud dashboard and use it inside a skills-capable AI agent.
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- Cloud features need an account, an API key and paid credits from the vendor's service
- Documentation and tutorials are mostly in Chinese
- Desktop client for preview and editing is Windows only
- Needs an AI agent that supports skills, which may have its own costs
