What you can do with it
- Turn a novel or finished script into characters, scenes, storyboards and video clips
- Keep characters looking consistent across shots, and redo or roll back single assets
- Export a draft to JianYing to adjust subtitles, voice-over and transitions
Make money with it
Offer a done-for-you service that adapts clients' stories or product material into short videos, or publish serialised short dramas on video platforms.
An idea, not financial advice. Check the licence before charging for anything built on it.
Ways a business could use it
- Produce short promotional or product videos for social media without hiring a video team
- Create episodic story or narration videos for a content channel at lower cost per clip
Can you use it commercially?
Free to use. Anything you distribute that includes it must be open-sourced under the same licence. Running it as an online service also counts, so a hosted version must offer its source.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
Clone the repository, copy the example environment file and run docker compose up -d in the deploy folder, then add model providers in the settings page.
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- Needs paid API keys for text, image and video generation providers
- Licensed under AGPL-3.0, so commercial redistribution or hosted use has obligations
- JianYing export targets the mainland China version; CapCut compatibility is unverified
- Documentation and interface are mainly in Chinese
- Default setup exposes port 1241 on all network interfaces, so it needs securing before remote access
